1841 census
The house name comes first, the surname of the 'head' of the household follows. Note that
some houses have several different families occupying different parts of the building. In this transcript of the 1851 Census houses
are listed in proximity order, generally going from north to south. Holland is
the 'great house' with an extensive collection of outbuildings. At this time Holland owned most of
Papa Westray and had large numbers of servants and farm-workers.
